US national detained at IGI airport
New Delhi: Delhi police has detained a 61-year old American national at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport just before he was to board a Qatar-bound flight after a sharp object was found in his baggage. The special cell of the Delhi police and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) is now questioning the man identified as Winston Marshall, who was also carrying a fake passport along with the sharp object. Sources said Marshall is now being questioned by the investigating agencies and the American mission has been informed about the same. Marshall is a convert from Christianity to Islam and had arrived in India for the first time a fortnight ago on a tourist visa. He has a tourist visa to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh and arrived here from Pakistan. Airport sources claimed that during the security check, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials found the knife 'concealed between an herbal plant following which he was handed over to the police.
