British nationals detained with hi-tech gadgets yet to be questioned
New Delhi:The Union Home Ministry on Tuesday said the two British nationals, detained here for possessing suspicious gadgets, could face action under the Indian Telegraph Act. "The ministry has asked the Delhi Police to interrogate them to ascertain that whether they violated the Indian Telegraph Act," sources said. "If they found violating the act they will be booked," they added. Stephen Hampston and Steven Martin were detained by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Delhi Police for possessing hi-tech gadgets, maps and binoculars. The men were interrogated at the Radisson Hotel near the Indira Gandhi Airport for suspicious activity. India has been on a heightened state of alert since the Saturday's Pune bomb blast which claimed nine lives.
