Congress, NCP Maharashtra poll seat sharing formula on Friday
Mumbai: The Congress party and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) were likely to formally decide on the seat sharing formula for next month's assembly elections in Maharashtra on Wednesday, but will make the announcement only on Friday, sources here said. Leaders of the two parties met at Chief Minister Ashok Chavan's official residence Varsha on Tuesday evening to finally thrash out seat-sharing arrangement. In the last elections, the Congress had allocated 124 seats to the NCP. This time, however, the Congress wants to give 105 seats to the NCP. Efforts are on to arrive at the compromise figure of 114.
