London:A British company has come up with new airplane designs that have interiors like a tube train. The
most striking feature of the design is its seating arrangement where passengers
would sit on seats with their backs towards the windows. Design Q has come up
with this idea for planes flying between destinations of an hour or less. Design
Q director Howard Guy said the new design would mean lighter and more fuel-efficient
plans. The Daily Express quoted him as saying: "It is taking the idea of traditional
transport like a train or bus and asking: 'Why can't we do this on a plane?'"
If the design is found to be secure and is granted approval, planes would be able
to carry at least 10 percent more passengers.
