August 1, 2010 | Incessant rain leads to water logging in New Delhi | New Delhi: Incessant rains accompanied by strong winds lashed New Delhi for the second consecutive day on Sunday, thereby leading to water logging in many parts of the city. Mostly people stayed indoors and enjoyed the rain, as schools
and offices remained closed. But the low-lying neighbourhoods were inundated with
heavy flow of water affecting the normal life. Earlier on Saturday, a heavy downpour
disrupted normal life in Delhi and the National Capital region (NCR). The India
Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted huge and regular rainfall for the
next two months. Delhi has so far received 242.2 mm of rains this monsoon. |
