Forest officials recover body of leopard in Mussoorie

Mussoorie (Uttarakhand): The forest administration in Mussoorie recovered the body of a leopard believed to have been killed in a road accident. The officials found the jaws of the animal broken with no other major injuries in the body. The leopard's corpse has been sent for post-mortem examination. "It came in the evening and probably jumped over a fence and fell on the road where it must have been hit by a speeding vehicle. It died on the spot," B. D. Singh, sub-divisional officer of the Uttarakhand Wildlife Department said on Sunday. "It was a one-and-a-half or two-year-old male. We will do a post-mortem to find out the exact cause of the death," he added.
