Snowfall lures tourists to Manali

     Manali: Hundreds of foreign and local tourists thronged the picturesque locales of Himachal Pradesh to enjoy the snowfall in Manali. Girish, a tourist from Gujarat said he was delighted to see snowfall as he had never seen snow in his life. "We have enjoyed a lot, doing skiing on the snow. We had only seen the snow on television. We have never seen such snow ever before and we feel as if we have come to heaven," said Girish. Gokul, a local vendor, said that after the snowfall, the region experienced a large influx of tourists, which boosted business in a big way. "Tourists were very few before the snowfall but with the snowfall in the region, tourists have increased. People are getting good business as tourists are turning up in large numbers in Manali," said Gokul. The snowfall has also brought cheer to the local hoteliers, who expect an encouraging turnout of tourists over the next couple of weeks. Solang Nala, a snowy area of Manali, is the most visited and famous point for snow sports in the region. Skiing, snowboarding, sledging, horse riding, snow biking, paragliding and ballooning are some of the activities tourists have been indulging in.
