Julia Roberts visits Taj Mahal

New Delhi: Oscar winner Julia Roberts visited the world famous symbol of love "Taj Mahal" in Agra, according to reports. She reportedly visited the historical monument in Agra, about 200 km from Pataudi where she is currently staying for the shooting of Eat, Pray, Love, last Saturday. Universally admired masterpiece mausoleum of white marble, Taj Mahal was completed in 1648 after 17 years utilizing about 20,000 laborers and 1,000 elephants. Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died during the birth of her 14th child, it gets about four million visitors annually and appears in several listings of seven wonders of the modern world. Roberts also reportedly spent some time on the weekend with a Bollywood family: Filmfare Award winners Saif Ali Khan (Hum Tum) and Sharmila Tagore (Aradhana), and Filmfare nominated Soha Ali Khan (Rang De Basanti). Tagore is also the chairperson of Central Board of Film Certification of India, a government regulatory body "responsible for certifying the films produced in India as well as outside the country suitable for public exhibition".
