Trainer chopper makes emergency landing on top of building in Bangalore

     Bangalore: A Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd Academy's Schweizer trainer helicopter, which was on a routine training sortie, made an emergency landing on top of an apartment in Indiranagar in Bangalore this evening. Both pilot Roj Assey and the co-pilot Digvijay Singh are reported to be safe. It was flying in the surrounding areas for more than two hours. The residents of Maitri, a 5-storey building housing 34 apartments in Bangalore East heard a loud thud like an earthquake. Some army people got the people out of the building. The pilot said it was an engine failure. The HAL airport is nearby. The chopper was lying overturned on the terrace. Another chopper will be used to lift away the damaged chopper after taking it apart.
