AI suspends pilot, purser for misbehaviour on flight, risking passenger safety

     New Delhi: Air India has suspended pilot Ranbir Arora, captain of flight IC 884, and flight purser Amit Khanna, over the mid-air scuffle incident. Addressing a press conference, president of Indian Commercial Pilots Association Shailendra Singh, demanded a speedy sorting out of the issue as it puts a question mark on the credibility of aviation. Singh said that there was no panic in the association about the report on the enquiry and said that the pilots have to respect the management and give them the right information. On Monday, Captain Ranbir Arora had hinted that the cockpit was unmanned during the scuffle. However, the national carrier declared that the cockpit was not unmanned during the scuffle, and the security of the passengers was not compromised. Earlier on Saturday, panic gripped Air India flight IC884 when a fight was broke out between the two pilots and cabin crew members -in mid air from Sharjah to Delhi. Air India has grounded the pilots and crew involved and launched an inquiry.
