Paragliding lures tourists to Solang Nala in Himachal

Solang Nala (Himachal Pradesh): Paragliding attracts large number of domestic and foreign tourists to the hill town of Solang Nala near Manali in Himachal Pradesh. A significant surge has been witnessed in tourist footfalls after local authorities promoted this adventure sport on a larger scale. A foreign tourist, Mark, said he did not have words to express the amazing experience of paragliding below the Himalayas . "We knew about paragliding back in MontrĂ©al. It was exciting. We wanted to try for sure in the Himalayas , so we did. We took a jump and it was crazy. I just cannot describe the feeling while you are standing there and it is crazy. You should try it," he said on Sunday. Adventure-loving youth too have been overwhelmed by the experience. Roop Singh, a trainer, said that even bad wind conditions have not deterred tourists from doing paragliding. "There are around 150 trainers and there is enough rush here. This season, we are doing paragliding in intervals as wind condition is not favourable but there is large tourist influx. This time tourists are waiting for paragliding," said Singh. During paragliding one gets an opportunity to see breathtaking aerial view of the town and the surrounding snowcapped Himalayan mountains.
