Artificial village becomes tourist attraction in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: An small artificial village in Hyderabad city has become a major tourist attraction, as many people wanting to experience the spirit of rural environment are visiting the place. The credit of creating the Shilparamam village goes to artists belonging to Visakhapatnam district, who have spent nearly a year on its preparation. "The main aim of building this rural museum is to give people the feel of rural environment and the village especially to those living in urban areas. Here you can see statues depicting day-to-day rural tasks. Artists those who have built this rural museum and the statues have come from Visakhapatnam district," said Parijatha, Coordinator of Shilparamam. Many visitors describe the village experience in the IT hub as awesome. "These statues look very real. Here, it looks like they are selling real vegetables. The artificial tomatoes look real," said Sheela, a local. "The idea of building an artificial village is very nice. The rural setup and the statues reminded us of our past. Children must visit this place so that they can understand the rural culture and tradition. I think further such initiatives should be taken," said Padmavathi, another visitor. The popularity of the Shilparamam can be measured from the fact that locals and tourists from far off places make a beeline to see and appreciate the artwork.
