Security personnel rescue stranded passengers in snow-hit Himachal

     Manali (HimachalPradesh): The Border Road Organisation (BRO) launched an operation to rescue passengers and vehicles stranded by heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh. Manali-Leh road received heavy snowfall and snowstorms on November 9-10 and again on November 14-16 blocking the road and stranding several tourists, private vehicles as well as other equipments across the road. "In the normal circumstances we must not have cleared this road again. As we came to know that lots of vehicles are stranded across Rohtang. Due to this we are putting these efforts to make the road through so that all the stranded people and vehicles and equipments and private people can come across," said S.K. Doon, Commander 38 BRTF of Border Road Organisation. "We have three teams working for clearing the snow here. One team is working from Muddy upwards towards Rohtang, second from Muddy towards Rana Falls and the third from Rana Falls upwards. We have almost 20-25 soldiers working on this," said Satish, a soldier of 38 BRTF. Border Road organization has deployed seven bulldozers to carry out this operation.
