| December 23, 2009 | Manali resort gets ready to host tourists during Christmas | | Manali: Manali is all geared up to host local and foreign tourists during the Christmas festivities, with hotels and resorts in the region ready for the tourists as they are expecting a heavy rush during the weekend. The district
authorities are making arrangements to ensure safety and security of the tourists.
"We are fully prepared for receiving tourists from all over the country and abroad.
And for this Christmas weekend, we have laid special emphasis on maintaining law
and order. And for this purpose, the Tourism Development Council, Manali, has
provided 50 home guards to the district police, for enforcement of law and order
and for better traffic management. Besides, we have also provided two CCTV cameras
to the local police of Manali," said Rajeshwar Goyal, District Tourism Officer,
Manali. The prospect of celebrating a white Christmas amid snowfall is what is
attracting the tourists to Manali. " We have come to Manali for celebrating Christmas.
In Manali you get snowfall during Christmas, so we thought we could see snowfall,"
said Rajashekharan, a tourist. | |
