December 28, 2009 | Air India ticketless passenger, remanded to police custody | Jaipur: Habib Hussain, who flew back home on Saturday by managing to sneak into an Air India flight from Medina to Jaipur, has been sent to six-days police custody. Hussain
was produced before a Magistrate in Jaipur, who sent him to six days police custody.
Hussain, who hails from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, was found hiding in the toilet
of the aircraft that took off with 273 Haj pilgrims, who were returning home.
According to reports, Hussain managed to get inside the aircraft on the plea of
cleaning. He was arrested last night and booked under the Passport act. The initial
investigations point out that he did not intend to cause any harm. Further investigations
are on to ascertain all the facts. SP (Jaipur- East) B G Joseph said that Hussain
would be produced before the court on January 2, 2010 after the remand. This incident
has been viewed as a serious security breach. The Central Industrial Security
Force (CISF), which is in charge of airport security, had filed a complaint against
Hussain. |
