Vintage cars roll through streets of Delhi

New Delhi: A vintage car rally was hosted for enthusiasts of old automobile beauties in New Delhi on Sunday, where a good number of classic and vintage cars took to the roads. Among the vintage beauties on view were a Wellesley, a Lancaster, Jaguars, Ford, Mercedes Benz, Chevrolets, Dodges, Studebaker, Plymouths, a Desoto, Austins, Fiats and Morris Minors. Elated participants said vintage cars have their own elegance and beauty and can't be replaced by any new model. "People who have gathered here, have craze for cars since childhood. Even though they have modern cars to drive, they have a craze for vintage cars. It continues from one generation to another," claimed Tutu Dhawan, an auto analyst associated with FMSC India. "For the last seven to eight years I am participating in this rally. My car is a 1958 manufactured Morgan. It was in a bad shape but I have restored it tediously. I have great fun driving it," added Yash Sharma, a participant. Showcasing the best of the bygone era, the rally provided a glimpse of the best collections leaving the audience spellbound.
