Indian army concludes adventure camp for children

     Poonch (J-K): A five-day adventure camp for children organised by Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district concluded on Sunday. During the camp, 30 children were exposed to various activities and competitions like trekking, kabbadi, tug of war and night tracking. Organisers said that objective of the camp was overall development of children and the development of the border region. "The camp will develop leadership qualities in students. The camp is not only for the overall development of students but it should be beneficial to the area also.," said Brigadier Satish Dua, commander of Poonch region. Children belonging to different states and religions mingled with each other and paid obeisance at the shrines they visited. "Children from far flung areas are attending this the camp. We all are enjoying here. We want that in future army should organise such camps and call us to participate," said Ruksana, a participant. The Army also plan to organise such camps in other regions of the country.
