Two Tibetans arrested for assaulting German woman in Himachal

Dharamsala: Two Tibetan youths were arrested for allegedly raping a 46-year old German national who was found in an unconscious state by the police in Mcleodganj in Himachal Pradesh. The arrest came after the German woman lodged a complaint that she was raped by two youths for two successive days - December 27 and December 28 - during her stay in Bagsunag near Mcleodganj. The police officials said that they recovered the woman in an unconscious state from the Bagsunag area on Thursday. She was undergoing a treatment in a hospital at Tanda town after the incident and filed a complaint after she was discharged from the hospital. Reportedly, the victim informed the police that she had met a Tibetan youth, who took her to his room where already another person was present. It was there where they raped her. "We found one lady in an unconscious state and admitted her to the Tanda medical college. The statement was recorded in which she claimed that she met a youth on the night of December 27, who took her to a room where one person was already present and she was confined to the closed enclosure," said Umapati Jamwal , Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Kangra. "The investigation was in progress and there are still some things that needed to be cleared out, which is only possible after the medical report," Jamwal added.
