Terrorists 'cleaning' passports to avoid detection at airports

London: A secret British Home Office document has revealed that terrorists are 'cleaning' their passports to arouse less suspicion at airports. After making trips to places like training camps in Afghanistan or Pakistan, many plotters apply for a new British passport. A new passport will have no trace of previous visits, News of the World reports. They say their old one with visa stamps recording the dodgy visit has been lost. And the new "clean" passport contains no record of the trip. The method, used by terrorists who plotted to blow up jets flying from London in 2006, is described as a key enabler in committing an act of terror. The report recommends security services monitor anyone who keeps updating their passport. Yesterday Tory MP Patrick Mercer slammed the Home Office's Immigration and Nationality Directorate for not anticipating the scam earlier.
