Passenger threat forces Jet Airways flight to land at Varanasi

     Varanasi: A Khajuraho-bound Jet Airways flight had to make an emergency landing here after a passenger threatened to blow up the plane on Sunday. A passenger identified as Vishwanabhan from Bangalore threatened flight staff to blow up the aircraft, if staff didn’t allow him his desired seat. The pilot of the aircraft made an emergency landing at Babatpur International Airport , Varanasi at around 1p.m. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) arrested Vishwanabhan as the flight landed. Security agencies conducted a thorough scan of the flight and declared that there was no explosive. Due to this drama by a passenger the 9W723 New Delhi- Khajuraho flight was delayed by five hours. According to Jet Airways, the flight was delayed due to questioning of "certain guests" on security concerns by the airport authorities as well as security agencies.
