Lanarkshire hotel catches 'ghost' on CCTV!

London: A historic hotel in Scotland has left its staff baffled after a ghostly figure was caught roaming its grounds on CCTV. This is the first time that a ghostly figure has been caught on film at the historic New Lanark Mill Hotel, though there have been other sightings before that were not recorded. Hotel boss John Stirrat, 35, was watching the routine security tape when he spotted the glowing spectral figure gliding across the car park and appearing to vanish through a closed door. "It's the strangest, eeriest thing I have ever seen. It makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up," the Sun quoted him as saying. "The camera shows a small bright figure, about 4ft high, possibly a child. It's seen bending and nodding before staying still for a bit. "At one point it disappeared through a door without opening it, before reappearing," he revealed. The camera looks out over a parking area at the Lanarkshire hotel, which in its past life was a working cotton mill. Stirrat, who insists he is sceptical about paranormal activity, admitted the chilling film stumped him. "There weren't any staff, guests or members of the public outside at the time," he said. "New Lanark's always atmospheric and the heritage village has a fantastic history, so I suppose it's the kind of place where ghostly activity could conceivably occur," he added. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, the village was founded in 1785 and provided work for 2,500 poor Scots. And there were around 500 children living in the community and working at the mills.
