Delhi eases covid curbs as deaths drop to 7; Bars, parks, golf clubs also open
The Delhi Government allowed bars, public parks, gardens, golf clubs and outdoor yoga also to open from Monday as the covid cases and casualties are falling fast. Restaurants and malls started functioning last Monday. However, schools and educational institutions and cinemas and halls will remain closed. The daily covid cases fell to 124 on Sunday, the lowest in four months, and the number of deaths also dropped to 7, while the positivity ratio has fallen to 0.17%, the lowest ever.

NEW DELHI, June 21: In a fourth stage of relaxation in covid restrictions, the Delhi Government allowed bars, public parks, gardens, golf clubs and outdoor yoga to open from Monday as the covid cases have plummeted. In an earlier order, restaurants and malls were allowed to function since last Monday.

What remain closed in Delhi? Schools, colleges and all other educational institutions, cinemas, gyms, spas, banquet halls and auditoriums will remain closed.

The relaxation in covid restrictions will be effective till 5 am of June 28 as a trial.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority announced the further easing of restrictions which were imposed on April 19 in the second wave of covid.

As per the guidelines, all markets, market complexes and malls will be open from 10 am to 8 pm. Restaurants have been allowed up to 50 per cent of the seating capacity from 8 am (instead of 10 am) to 10 pm and bars from 12 pm to 10 pm. The restaurant and bar owners would be responsible for strict adherence to covid safety measures and all official guidelines and norms.

New covid cases dropped to 124 in Delhi on Sunday, the lowest in four months (on February 16 Delhi had recorded 97 cases). The number of deaths also dropped to 7. And the case positivity ratio has fallen to 0.17%, the lowest ever.
