NEW DELHI, March 27: IndiGo launched 100 new flights on Sunday under its domestic
summer schedule. The airline said in a statement that the new services are on
20 exclusive routes such as Pune-Mangaluru, Pune-Visakhapatnam, Hubli-Hyderabad,
Jammu-Varanasi and Tirupati-Tiruchirappalli.
India's largest low-cost airline said it also re-commenced 16 exclusive flights
apart from starting RCS services between Prayagraj and Lucknow.
IndiGo Chief Commercial Officer Willy Boulter said the airline is keen on resuming
international operations back to pre-covid levels but that will also depend
on factors like arrival guidelines of various countries.
IndiGo flies to 97 destinations including 24 international. It has a fleet
of 275 aircraft and a market share of 55%.
Meanwhile, India resumed scheduled international passenger flights from/to
its airports on Sunday. The international flights were suspended since March
23, 2020 in view of the global covid pandemic. With the resumption of these
flights the air bubble agreements will stand cancelled. Special flights under
air bubble arrangements with 37 countries were operating since July 2020.
