NEW DELHI, Oct 13: Reliance Industries Chairman and billionaire Mukesh Ambani
visited Badrinath and Kedarnath Dhams in Uttarakhand on Thursday. He performed
pujas at both the temples and donated Rs 5 cr to the Badri-Kedar temple committee.
Mukesh Ambani was accompanied by his younger son Anant Ambani’s fiancée Radhika
Merchant and RIL officials.
On September 17, Mukesh Ambani visited Guruvayur temple in Trichur district
of Kerala and donated Rs 1.51 cr for 'annadanam' (poor feeding). He was accompanied
by Radhika Merchant. Devaswom Chairman VK Vijayan and management committee members
welcomed Ambani, who reached the temple at 5 pm and spent 20 minutes on the
temple premises.
On September 16, Mukesh Ambani visited the Tirupati Venkateswara temple. He
and Radhika Merchant offered prayers and conducted poojas at the temple in Tirupati
in the morning. He also donated Rs 1.5 crore to the temple trust, it has been
reported.
Alongwith RIL officials they had arrived in the hill town before day break
and stayed at a guest house for a short while refreshing before proceeding to
the temple. They offered prayers at the sanctum sanctorum and attended Abhishekam
(holy bath) of Lord Venkateswara. They are ardent devotees of Lord Venkateswara.
On September 10, Ambani also visited the Shrinathji temple in the famous Nathdwara
temple town in Rajasthan. He is a regular worshipper here, it is reported.
Especially the Ambanis visit various temples and offer prayers when they are
about to launch new ventures. This time they are lauching 5G mobile service
around Diwali.
Char Dhams
Badrinath temple will close on November 19 and Kedarnath temple will close
on October 27 as the pilgrim season is coming to a close prior to setting in
of winter.
The temple website says prior registration is mandatory for Char Dham Yatra
and booking of any kind of puja should be done after registration only. For

Char Dham Yatra (four shrines visit) also includes Yamunotri and Gangotri,
both in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand State. While Kedarnath is in neighbouring
Rudraprayag district, Badrinath is in bordering Chamoli district to the east.
Yamunotri will close on October 24 and Gangotri will close on October 26.
