Amma appreciated the provision for a wide spectrum representation of the voices
of the common people.
"Hunger, conflict, extinction of species and environmental destruction are
the most important issues facing the world today. We should put in sincere efforts
to develop solutions," Amma remarked at the first C20 online interaction.
"Often, we see a lack of multi-disciplinary and integrated effort. This is
the need of the hour," Amma said. She said poverty in the rural areas is a major
hurdle in the way of overall progress and reminded that it is the people there
who grow most of our food.
C20 engages more than 800 civil societies and organisations from member and
non-member countries ensuring that people of all strata of society are heard
