EDMONTON (Alberta, Canada), Dec 13: In the third such incident in a month,
a 24-year-old Indian-origin Sikh was shot dead in Canada's Alberta province
a week ago. The victim was identified as Sanraj Singh.
The incident happened in 51 Street, 13 Avenue, Mill Woods-area, of Edmonton,
Capital of Alberta, at 8:40 pm on December 3. The police who arrived on report
of gunshot in the area tried to revive Sanraj sitting in a car but failed. An
autopsy was conducted. “The cause of death was gunshot wounds, and the manner
of death is homicide,” an Edmonton Police statement said.
The police have collected images of a vehicle leaving the area at the time
of the incident. Investigators appealed for dash or security camera footage
from anyone near 50 Street on Saturday night around the time of the man's killing,
saying it may help identify a suspect vehicle seen leaving the area, possibly
an SUV.
This would be Edmonton’s 31st homicide of 2022.
