In a rage, teacher throws class 5 student down from first floor in Delhi school |
The girl is alive and has been hospitalised. Teacher Geeta Deshwal has been
detained by the police. The incident took place in a municipal corporation
primary school, Nagar Nigam Balika Vidyalaya, in west Delhi.

NEW DELHI, Dec 16: In a horrifying incident, a primary school teacher attacked
a student with scissors and then threw her down the first floor classroom in
Delhi on Friday morning. The girl has been hospitalised and is in a critical condition.
The incident took place at a municipal corporation school (Nagar Nigam Balika
Vidyalaya ) in Model Basti, Rani Jhansi Road, near Karol Bagh in west Delhi
at around 11 am. The Class 5 student Vandana is undergoing treatment at Hindurao
hospital. She was thrown down through the classroom window. Teacher Geeta
Deshwal has been detained by the police.
According to one report, Geeta hit the child with scissors in a rage following an argument among some teachers. It was not known how the girl was connected to the dispute
among the teachers.
"At around 11:15 am, beat officer of PS DBG road received information that
a school child was thrown from the first floor classroom by the teacher," a
police statement said. The police have filed a case under section 307 of the
Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The teacher has been suspended by the municipal corporation.
