Shraddha Walkar series: Tribal woman chopped into 50 pieces in J'khand

The story unfolded when locals noticed a dog eating what looked like human flesh behind an anganwadi in Borio Block of Sahibganj district.

RANCHI, Dec 19: Close on the heels of the gruesome murder of Shraddha Walkar in Delhi, a man in Jharkhand killed his wife, a tribal woman and chopped her body into 50 pieces and threw them at various places to avoid detection, according to the woman's family members. Shraddha Walkar is alleged to have been cut into 35 pieces by her live-in partner Aftab Ameen Poonawala and parts were disposed of at different places across the city.

The victim identified as Rubika Pahadin (22) was allegedly murdered by her husband Dildar Ansari. They were married only a month ago. It is said that the couple had a love marriage but used to fight frequently. The incident took place in Jharkhand's Sahibganj under the jurisdiction of Borio police station. Dildar Ansari has been detained by the police. The deceased was his second wife.

The police have recovered 18 pieces of the body so far from Sahibganj. They said the accused tried to file a missing complaint to mislead them. Rubika's mutilated parts were found in Santhali Momin Tola on Saturday evening after locals noticed a dog eating what looked like human flesh behind an anganwadi building. Police recovered parts of a finger, a shoulder, a hip, a hand, lower back, a lung and stomach.

"Atrocities against daughters are on the rise during the tenure of Hemant Sarkar. Some frustrated people of the minority community are continuously targeting the daughters. But the government is not taking any step. If the government does not take concrete steps, then we will give a befitting reply to the government by hitting the streets," India Today quoted Pratul Shahdev, a State BJP spokesperson.

In Shraddha Walkar's case, her live-partner Aftab Ameen Poonawala, 28, strangled her after a fight, chopped her body, kept the parts in a fridge and later disposed them of across the city to avoid detection. The murder took place in Mehrauli in Delhi on May 18. They were earlier living in Vasai near Mumbai before shifting to Delhi.

Nephew chops aunt's body in Jaipur

Most recently, a nephew, 32, killed his widowed aunt, a cancer patient aged 60, and chopped the body into 10 pieces in Jaipur in Rajasthan on December 11. The police have arrested the accused and also recovered some body parts from jungles along the Jaipur-Delhi highway. He reportedly chopped her body with a marble cutter machine and threw them in the jungles. In this case too, the accused filed a missing report.

"One Anuj from Jaipur reported that his aunt is missing, we found various contradictions in his statements. During probe, we found that he killed his aunt using a hammer & cut her body into pieces using a knife & marble cutter", the police said.

In Sitapur

In yet another similar case, Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur police arrested Pankaj Maurya (46) and his companion for allegedly murdering his wife Jyoti alias Sneha (38) and chopping her body into pieces. Jyoti’s body parts were recovered from Gulariha on November 8. The two were married for over ten years.

The Sitapur police in its statement revealed, "the accused Pankaj Maurya has confessed to police that he along with one of his companions has killed his wife".
