Mercedes hits divider on Noida Expressway, catches fire, driver dies

NOIDA (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 2: A 42-year old executive of a private company
died when his car hit a divider on Noida Expressway and went up in flames in
the wee hours of Wednesday.
The accident victim has been identified as Anuj Sherawat, a native of Rohini
in Delhi. His over-speeding Mercedes had rammed a divider and caught fire at
the Eldeco roundabout in Noida Sector 93, trapping him inside. He was taken
out after a fire brigade doused the fire. Moved to a nearby hospital he was
declared dead on arrival.
The police said he was going to Sector 168 in Noida where he had his new house
after meeting a friend in Delhi. A divorcee, he worked at a construction equipment
manufacturing firm in Faridabad. The body has been handed over to his relatives
after post-mortem examination.
Eyewitnesses said he was over-speeding and zipping past other vehicles on the
Expressway.
