Railway TTE arrested, dismissed for peeing on woman passenger

It was not known immediately if the off-duty TTE, sleeping on the upper berth, eased himself during sleep or in an inebriated state. It was also not known if he suffered from incontinence. The incident occurred on Akal Takht Express at a Lucknow station.

NEW DELHI, March 14: A Railways Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) was arrested and dismissed from service after he allegedly urinated on a woman passenger.

It was not known immediately if the off-duty TTE, sleeping on the upper berth, eased himself during sleep or in an inebriated state. It was also not known if he suffered from incontinence.

The accused has been identified as TTE Munna Kumar. He has been booked under Sections 354-A, 352 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The incident happened on Akal Takht Express (number 12317), running from Kolkata to Amritsar, near Charbagh railway station in Lucknow at around midnight on Monday. The woman raised an alarm and co-passengers caught hold of him.

The woman's husband, Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Bihar, who was also travelling alongwith her, complained to the Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel. The victim is also said to be a railway employee. The TTE was taken into custody at Charbagh railway station and produced before the court. He has been sent to judicial custody.

The couple had boarded the train at Kiul Junction in Bihar. They were travelling on seats numbers 31 and 32 in coach number A1, HT reported. “Late on Sunday night, when my wife was sleeping, Munna Kumar, who was on seat number 41, came and peed on my wife’s head,” Rajesh Kumar stated in the FIR.

Munna Kumar, hailing from Begusarai in Bihar, was posted at Saharanpur.

"Zero tolerance. Removal from service with immediate effect," Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw tweeted on Tuesday.

A notice signed by the divisional commercial manager said the TTE was dismissed. It said, "Your above conduct showing disrespect to women construes a serious misconduct, in the process bringing disrepute not only to your own self but entire railways as an organisation. It is also seen that you are in judicial custody. Taking cognisance of this grave matter, I consider it to be a fit case to adopt the provision of Rule 14(ii). Thus, I hereby deem it fit to impose the punishment of 'removal from service with immediate effect' for behaviour unbecoming of a railway servant."

Several such instances of perverted behaviour had happened aboard planes in the recent past.

WHAT TO DO, WHEN... : IndiaTravelTimes does not guarantee the authenticity of the video (above) of the episode of the flight turbulence at Durgapur airport on May 1, yet this is being put out with a view to familiarising the ordinary fliers with such probabilities lest they are caught unawares and fail to react rationally to handle such terrible situations. The 'eternity' can last up to 15 minutes. Tighten your belts, believe in your pilot and shift your thoughts to reduce disabling anxieties! Rest assured, the aircraft can rock and fall but not more than a hundred feet anyway.

During the event, nearly 50 other people, including bull tamers and spectators, were also injured. Jallikattu is a bull-taming sport, which has been part of the festival of Pongal in Tamil Nadu.

Whole localities are sent into quarantine in China using force if someone is symptomatic of covid. The quarantines are metal boxes set up in far away camps. The authoritarian regime is resorting to draconian methods to check a new wave of the epidemic in the country that has already locked down three cities currently. On the other hand, the US presents a contrasting scenario where in the name freedom large sections of people refuse vaccination and assault health workers who mandate the covid restrictions.

Can we ask the vaccinator, "Do you pull back the plunger and then push the vaccine? Do you Aspirate?" When the vaccination for covid started there were reports of worrisome incidents of adverse events post immunisation, the serious complaints being non-specific blood clots. These related to viral vector vaccines of human and non-human source: AstraZeneca and Janssen. How did it happen. There are various views. But here is a suggestion how simply it can be prevented.

Marking a fierce but interesting competition among the billionaires, adventure specialist Richard Branson launched commercial space travel from his 'Spaceport America' on Sunday, pipping the world's richest man, Amazon's Jeff Bezos, to the post, becoming the early bird to fly to the edge of space as the first private space tourist nine days earlier than his rival. Although he did not cross the Karman line.

While the rationalists debunk the episode as a ploy to make up for the losses in offerings during the corona lockdown, the believers stick to their claim, they have seen it after all!
