Amazon to lay off 9,000 more employees in second round: CEO
An "uncertain economy" and "rapid hiring" were cited as the reasons. However,
Jassy said the company will continue to hire in certain areas. The technology
companies have so far retrenched 3,09,591 tech employees globally.
SEATTLE (Washington State), March 21: Amazon will lay off 9,000 more employees in
the next few weeks, CEO Andy Jassy said in a memo to staff on Monday. In the
first round of layoffs in January, the company retrenched 18,000 employees.
Cloud services, advertising and Twitch units will be affected in the coming

An "uncertain economy" and "rapid hiring" were cited as the reasons. However,
Jassy said the company will continue to hire in certain areas.
“Some may ask why we didn't announce these role reductions with the ones we
announced a couple months ago. The short answer is that not all of the teams
were done with their analyses in the late fall; and rather than rush through
these assessments without the appropriate diligence, we chose to share these
decisions as we've made them so people had the information as soon as possible,"
Jassy said.
Jassy said he is optimistic about the company’s “largest businesses,”
retail and Amazon Web Services.
The company’s global workforce was 1.6 million by the end of 2021, up from
798,000 in the fourth quarter of 2019.
3,09,591 tech employees laid off
Last week, Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg announced an additional 10,000 cuts
in the coming months. The process has already started in recruiting and human
resources departments where 1,500 reductions have taken place. In November last,
11,000 employees were laid off.
Companies in the US cut 77,770 jobs in February and 1,02,943 in January. Most

Whole localities are sent into quarantine in China using force if someone is
symptomatic of covid. The quarantines are metal boxes set up in far away
camps. The authoritarian regime is resorting to draconian methods to check a
new wave of the epidemic in the country that has already locked down three
cities currently. On the other hand, the US presents a contrasting scenario
where in the name freedom large sections of people refuse vaccination and
assault health workers who mandate the covid restrictions.

Can we ask the vaccinator, "Do you pull back the plunger and
then push the vaccine? Do you Aspirate?" When the vaccination
for covid started there were reports of worrisome incidents of
adverse events post immunisation, the serious complaints being
non-specific blood clots. These related to viral vector vaccines of
human and non-human source: AstraZeneca and Janssen. How
did it happen. There are various views. But here is a suggestion
how simply it can be prevented.
