Islamabad:Thousands of Sikh Yatris from India arrived at Lahore on Tuesday to participate in Baisakhi celebrations. Pakistan’s
Evacuees Trust Property Board (ETPB) made special arrangements at the Waga station
to give a warm welcome to the Indian guests. Strict security measures have been
taken for the safety of the guests, by Railways IGP Syed Ibne Hussain. ETPB Addition
Secretary Shrines Zahid Hussain Bukhari, Deputy Secretary Faraz Abbas, Azhar Sulehri,
Sardar Sham Singh, Chairman Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parabandhak Committee, along
with many local Sikh leaders received the Yatris, The Nation reports. The guests
will reportedly be visiting their religious places including Hasanabdal, Panja
Sahib, Dera Sahib and Nankana Sahib. Pakistan Railways has also arranged for three
special trains to facilitate the Yatris.
