TUJHE MERI KASAM: Where Hero, Heroine and
Director Are New-comers
"Itsn't a tale of love, ... it celebrates the spirit of friendship between a girl and a guy"

MUMBAI: 'Tujhe Meri Kasam' is the first film to be released this year which stars all new-comers, including a new hero, Ritesh Deshmukh, new heroine Genelia D'Souza and a new director, Vijay Bhaskar Rao. But what makes this film special is the fact that Ritesh is the son of Maharashtra chief minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh.

The film was premiered at Mumbai's IMAX Theatre. Celebrities from all walks of life, be it films, politics, sports and business, graced the occasion. May be to wish Ritesh luck or just to be in chief minister's good books. After all being in power gives anybody the power to lead just anything and this one happens to be the chief minister's son. The premiere was marked by tight security, high profile guests, politicians, film stars and business tycoons.

The list of guests featured: Raj Thackarey , Amitabh Bachchan, Sonali Bendre , Rani Mukherjee, Anil Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, Sunil Dutt , Ajay Devgan , Sunil Shetty , Chagan Bhujban, Kripa Shankar Singh, Deputy Home Minister, Amar Singh, Mukesh Ambani , Pritish Nandy, Ramesh Taurani, Fardeen Khan, Akshay Kumar, Goldie Behl, Ponca Udas, Shekhar Suman, Udit Narayan, Subhash Ghai, Vashu Bhagnani, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Gopi Nath Munde, vice-president of BJP, Mumbai Commissioner RS Sharma, Satish Kaushik, Hema Malini and Suresh Oberoi.

'Tujhe Meri Kasam' is a youth-centric story which says it's not a tale of love and celebrates the spirit of friendship between a girl and a guy. The girl making her debut opposite Ritesh is Geneila D'Souza, a model who plays pretty Anjali in the film who is very much like her own self. Though a new-comer, her ease in front of the camera and the natural grace seemed to fit the role.

The man behind the film, producer Ramoji Rao, who happens to be India's veteran media personality, has left no stone unturned to make the film as lavish and grand as possible. The film happens to be a remake of Ramoji Rao's earlier Telugu film, 'Nuuve Kawali', which was a super-hit and broke several records. The original film was also made with new-comers in the lead and in its Hindi version, Ramoji Rao has taken fresh faces.
