Police seize Ephedrine drugs worth Rs 220 cr

Delhi: The police on Monday seized 550 kg of Ephedrine drug which
is valued at Rs 220 cr in the world market, from Okhla industrial area
and has arrested two persons in this connection. The haul comes within
a week, when police had busted a drug racket after had seized drug worth
rupees 200 crore of Mandrax. The banned Ephedrine drug which used for
recreational purposes is also used by athletes to boost their performance.
The two people arrested tried to smuggle the drugs to US where there is
ambiguity over the legality of ephedrine use.
