Dhaka, known for presenting shocking designs on the ramp, said Indian designers needed exposure to sustain in the international markets. "Our influence is very big and but the designer in India is a businessman, he is his own marketer, he is his own retailer, he is his own funder, and he is not good at it. These are very weak links. Till we do not improve them, it is always going to be insecure grounds for us," she said. Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who recently showcased his "Frog Princess" creations at the Milan Fashion Show, said: "I think Indian fashion is slowly and slowly making a lot of difference in the world fashion scenario. We are making our entries slowly but surely. I think we are going to get there very soon," he said.
