Celebrity kin adds glitz to designers'
collection
Mumbai:
Daughter of Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha walked the ramp
in designer Dev R Nil's collection during Lakme Fashion week
in Mumbai. Singh's daughter Sonakshi, was the only female
model to showcase the spring summer collection of the designers.
"This collection is called the jig saw puzzle that what you
saw and final piece of the puzzle is the feminine element
which we have talked about and shown on the ramp. Luckily,
we got Sonakshi as piece of the puzzle, which completes our
jigsaw. We got a lot of endogenous elements though the whole
collection and that's what we like to wear and that's the
reason we have come up with this collection," said Nil. Sonakshi,
not a model by profession, said she wished to kick start her
career in the glamour world. "I felt pretty nervous but when
I got here I calmed down. I have been around behind the scenes
a long while now. Modeling is easier, designing is way harder.
So I like modeling for now," she said. Apart from Bollywood
celebrities, the fashion show also saw the presence of former
Australian cricket captain Mark Waugh. "It's fantastic. It
is the first fashion show I have been to so something new
for me. I really enjoyed it," Waugh said. LFW will involve
events like media seminars, business-to-business meetings
and a buyers' forum, apart from the regular shows. Around
75 designers are showcasing their collections in this season
of the fashion week.
