Delhi: Top leaders of various political parties have said their prayers and
sought the almighty's blessings for success in the forthcoming crucial parliamentary
election. Leading them all in the forefront was Congress president Sonia Gandhi
herself. Before filing her nomination papers at the office of the district magistrate
of Rae Bareli on Monday, Sonia first went to the state Congress office and attended
a puja ceremony, accompanied by her son Rahul Gandhi. She is seeking re-election
from Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency, from where she had won the seat in 2004.
Meanwhile, LK Advani, prime ministerial candidate and senior leader of Bharatiya
Janata Party, the main opposition party, visited the shrine of Sai Baba at Shirdi
on Sunday, where he offered prayers for the party's victory in the ensuing election,
and later he filed his nomination papers from Gandhinagar constituency on Wednesday.

accompanied by a large number of supporters, filed her nomination papers at the

not reach the office on time. She was stuck in traffic jam when she stopped over
at the Siddhivinayak temple to do prayers before filing her papers. Priya is contesting
against BJP candidate Mahesh Jethmalani. She had won the Mumbai North-Central
parliamentary constituency in 2004.
