Freida
Pinto could be next Bond girl
London:
Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto may become the new
Bond girl in the next spy adventure. According to sources,
the 24-year-old stunner was invited to a screen test for
the 007 movie. The actress was first spotted by producers
during the casting for Quantum of Solace. And following
Danny Boyle's Slumdog's awards success she has become
the hottest property in Hollywood. Freida could follow
in the footsteps of Bond babes such as Plenty O'Toole
in 1971 classic Diamonds Are Forever. "Freida came to
the attention of the Bond team when they were casting
Quantum of Solace. She was too young at the time to have
a part as a love interest for a secret agent," The Sun
quoted a source, as saying. "But she has blossomed into
an incredibly stunning young woman and would look perfect
on Daniel Craig's arm. "Danny Boyle is favourite to take
the helm of the next movie, which would increase Freida's
chances of a starring role," the source added. Meanwhile,
director Woody Allen has signed her up for his new movie.
'Slumdog Millionaire' slum
kids in Bollywood
film
Mumbai:
Slum kids of Oscar winning 'Slumdog Millionaire' have
begun their Bollywood inning by enacting in an upcoming
movie 'Kal Kissne Dekha'. Rubina Ali and Azharuddin Ismail,
who play slum kids Latika and Salim, respectively, in
director Danny Boyle's "Slumdog Millionaire, would be
appearing in cameo roles in 'Kal Kissne Dekha'. "We are
really feeling happy that slowly we are turning into actors
and everybody is treating us like actors. We never thought
we would be able to achieve all this fame. I never thought
and never dreamt that I would act in a movie and would
become an actor," said Ismail. Ali too was excited about
her Bollywood debut and narrated their role while talking
to reporters. "In this movie, we are coming by a plane
after winning Oscars. Then Jacky (debutant actor) comes
to know that there is a bomb in the plane. He then rescues
us and helps in diffusing the bomb," said Ali. Bollywood
actor Kunal Kapoor also said that they should continue
getting opportunities in the Bollywood. "It will be really
sad if these kids are in the limelight for a bit and that
they suddenly disappear, and they have to go back to exactly
the same life that they left behind, because they have
been exposed to a whole different new life. I just hope
they keep getting chance that can elevate what they started
off with. I just hope it's not the end and it's just the
beginning," Kapoor said. The two child actors are to receive
new homes from the Indian authorities after the small
budget movie swept the Oscars. Ali currently lives in
a tiny hovel in the same rubbish strewn slum near railway
tracks where Ismail lives. The child stars were feted
like true celebrities in India after they returned home,
post Oscars. There was an outcry after pictures emerged
of the child stars living in squalor despite the 15 million
dollars movie earning about 100 million dollars since
its North American release last November.
