JKLF ousts Yasin Malik from chairmanship
Islamabad:
The central leadership of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation
Front (JKLF) has removed Yasin Malik from the party's chairmanship
and nominated Farooq Siddique as the acting chairman. JKLF
Senior Vice President Mumtaz Ahmed Rathore while announcing
this said that Malik was ousted from the position following
his failure to run party affairs. He said that during a
London conference four years ago, JKLF leaders had asked
Yasin Malik to hold party elections, but he could not. Rathore
said that Malik had "undemocratically occupied" the JKLF
chairman slot for nine years like Amanullah, who was the
JKLF chief for 20 years. Rathore further said that the party
had appointed Javed Ahmed Mir as the JKLF convener of Srinagar,
reports the Daily Times.
