Bollywood's 'Badshah' Shahrukh Khan turns 40

     Mumbai: Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan today celebrated his 40th birthday in Mumbai. From a hot tempered and impatient newcomer to an actor of maturity and understanding, Khan's journey to Bollywood stardom has been a long one. So much so, that today he is one to turns the cinematic turnstiles. He hedges his bets by working only with best banners and top heroines. Shahrukh has had a string of hits in the film industry, ranging from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge to Main Hoon Na and Kal Ho Na Ho. Born on November 2, 1965, Khan was brought up in Delhi. He started his career in the TV serial "Fauji" which gave him instant recognition. He also acted in another TV soap called "Circus". His debut film was Deewana which opened the doors of the film industry for him. Khan has won several awards for his outstanding performances in Darr, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Baadshah...etc. He also formed a popular screen couple with Kajol. He has also been a successful producer with Chalte Chalte. This year, a documentary on his life called The inner and outer world of Shahrukh Khan` has been released. Speaking to a film website, Khan said,"Its good for me if I slowed down a bit. Last 39-40 years, I've been running around at super-speed. It'll do me good to slow myself, so I don't wear out. In a way it's a regenerating process. I would want my metabolism to stay the same but I want to take it all at an easier pace."
