Five whites jailed for race hate campaign in UK
London:
Publishing a magazine designed to spark racial violence
in Britain has landed five white males in jail. According
to a report in The Sun, Old Bailey Judge Jeremy Roberts sentenced
38-year-old Mark Atkinson of Egham, Surrey to five years in
prison, while the other four -- Jonathon Hill, 33, of Oldham;
Nigel Piggins, 39, of Hull; Steven Bostock, 27, of Urmston,
Gtr Manchester, and Michael Denis, 30, of Tooting, South London
-- received reduced prison terms. All five were charged with
using their Racial Volunteer Forces Stormer magazine to provide
the general public with a step-by- step guide on making a
nailbomb and a petrol bomb, running a racist web site and
for distributing a DVD promoted by the racist pop group Skrewdriver.
Judge Roberts told the accused that they were not being sentenced
for their political beliefs, but for attempting to "encourage
readers to resort to violence against people with non-white
backgrounds". The five were held in raids across Britain.
