Minister Jaiprakash Yadav to resign
New
Delhi: Union Minister of State for Water Resources Jaiprakash
Narain Yadav has decided to resign. Yadav, who is evading
arrest on charges relating to "illegal" release of his brother
Vijay Prakash from police custody in Jamui in Bihar, has decided
to send in his resignation shortly. Earlier, on October 24,
a court in Jamui had issued a non- bailable warrant against
Yadav, an RJD MP, and four others, including his brother and
RJD candidate for Bihar assembly polls, Vijay Prakash Yadav.
It had also suspended police officer Mukteshwar Prasad for
facilitating the "illegal" release of Prakash from police
custody. Vijay Prakash had been arrested in Jamui during polling
last month after he was allegedly found in possession of a
weapon besides a large quantity of liquor and cash. Jaiprakash
Yadav had moved a a bail application the next day, which was
however, rejected.
