convention of RSS women's wing begins

(Maharashtra): The women's wing of the right- wing Rashtriya
Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), Rashtra Sevika Samiti, will hold its
15th national convention here from today to commemorate the
birth centenary of its founder Laxmibai Kelkar. RSS chief K
Sudarshan would participate in the inaugural ceremony of the
three-day convention, Yoga exponent Ramdeo Baba will open the
convention that will be attended by about 10,000 members. Noted
gynaecologist Dr Kamini Rao and Dolma Gairry, Vice Chairperson
of the Tibetan Parliament in exile will participate in the concluding
session. Kelkar was born on July 5, 1905 in the city and hence
the samiti decided to organise the convention to commemorate
her birth centenary here, a release said.
