Security beefed up in airports across the country
Chennai:
The Centre today directed the security personnel of airports
across the country to beef up security regarding a 'non- specific
threat'. The airports countrywide have been put to a general
alert and the airport sources said that in all the airports,
those who entered or exited the operational area would be
checked The Chennai airport authorities confirming the direction
by the Centre said that the alert was not for a particular
airport but for all the airports in the country. After the
October 29 Delhi blasts, security has been tightened and strict
vigilance has been kept around Government buildings, railway
stations, airports and inter-state bus terminals.
