Bomb
hoax in Delhi police headquarters
New
Delhi: The Police Headquarters in the capital was evacuated
following a hoax call about a bomb being planted there on
Sunday morning. Panic wave surrounded the high security area
when an unidentified caller phoned the Police Control Room
in the morning and claimed that a bomb had been placed at
the PHQ. Reacting quickly to the call, the building was immediately
evacuated and bomb and dog squads and fire tenders were pressed
into service in search of the bomb, police sources said adding
that no suspicious object was found after a thorough search.
Interestingly, the call came just before a press conference
of Police Commissioner K K Paul in connection to the October
29 serial blasts case.
