Delhi Metro was on LeT's target list
New
Delhi: Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorists were in the process
of firming up plans for another attack in the Indian capital
soon after the October 29 serial blasts. Police sources said
that the targets included the underground Metro rail network
and seven other places. Tariq Dar, the prime accused in 29/10,
made these revelations during his interrogation, prompting
security agencies to tighten up security across the city.
At least four terrorists are said to be still at large. Meanwhile,
in Kashmir, Delhi Police have captured three more people and
are interrogating them. Delhi Police expects to gather more
information from Dar about the LeT's plans as he is believed
to be close to the banned outfit's top heirarchy. Dar had
direct contact with the outfit's chief, Hafiz Mohammad, telephonically.
In Kashmir, he was known to be a 'spokesman' for the LeT.
To verify his statements, he has already been taken to the
blast sites and will soon be taken to Jammu and Kashmir.
