Bengal MP Adhir Chowdhury arrested in Delhi

     Kolkata: Congress MP from West Bengal Adhir Chowdhury was arrested in connection with a murder and rioting case from his official residence at South Avenue in Delhi, today. A Joint team of Delhi and Bengal police have taken him to custody. Adhir Chowdhary, MP from Behrampore, had been taken to Chanakyapuri police station and will be produced in a local court for transit remand. Parliamentary Affairs Minister P R Dasmunshi met the MP at police station and condemned the conspiracy against him. Dasmunshi said Adhir Chowdhary has been falsely implicated in the case, adding the Congress would stand by the MP. Meanwhile, a report from Murshidabad today said the district Congress was huddled in a meeting to take stock of the situation following the arrest.
