Nanavati Commission summons to Banerjee panel
Ahmedabad:
The Inquiry Commission looking into the cause of the 2002
communal riots in Godhra, Gujarat, on Saturday issued summons
to the secretary of the high-powered Justice Banerjee Committee
to produce vital documents and reports regarding its finding
on the fire in the S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express on February
2002. The Nanavati-Shah Commission also expressed its displeasure
over what it termed as the Banerjee Committee's "reluctance"
to part with the vital documents in this regard. The summons
is returnable in two week`s time.
