Keanu, Cruise chicken out of playing Lunar Park (Go To Top)

London: Author Bret Easton Ellis gave the world the sauve serial killer, Patrick Bateman in his novel 'American Psycho'. Christain Bale chilled movie audiences with his portrayal of the character in the film adaptation of the novel. Now, the author's novel, "Lunar Park", is all set to be made into a movie. The only hitch is that many of Hollywood's big name stars such as Keanu Reeves and Tom Cruise have turned down the chance to play the writer. And Ellis is wondering what's scaring them off. The author says that he though Reeves loved his novel, "Lunar Park", he turned down the role. The same was the case with actors Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp. "I actually mention Keanu Reeves in the book and really wanted him to play me. He said he'd loved the book, but refused. It was the same with Tom Cruise, and Johnny Depp also said no but only because he has already played a writer," Femalefirst quoted the actor, as saying. He added that he was'nt sure what was scaring them away. And added that he was also willing to stay away from the movie set. "I don't know what they're all scared of - I won't be turning up on set," he said.

Movie tips for Potter creator (Go To Top)

Washington: British author JK Rowling may be the one holding the fate of Harry and the gang's future in her hands, but that has not stopped actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson from offering her a few suggestions about the way they want events to unfold. While actor Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the on-screen character of the boy-wizard Harry Potter, would like to see the much love game of quidditch come to a halt, actress Emma Watson, who plays Hermione, is getting frustrated that Ron and Hermione are still not getting together and hopes that Rowling will bring the two together. Radcliffe said that filming the game of quidditch was turning out to be as big a chore for the actors as it was for the writer who was finding it increasingly to write. "If quidditch isn't absolutely necessary, maybe don't. I read an interview with her a while ago, she said it's become quite a chore writing quidditch now. It's quite tough to film. It's tough on both of us. No one's benefiting. That would probably be what I'd say," Zap2it quoted him, as saying.

As for Watson, she said that Ron and Hermione need to get together and fast! "For goodness sake, Hermione and Ron just need to get it together. This has been so long now. They're so wrong, but they're so right. It just needs to happen and they just need to get on with it. Yeah. If that doesn't happen, I'm going to be really frustrated. Like, 'Oh, God. It's still ongoing.' So, hopefully they will end up together," she said. Though there have been rumours that the actors are growing to old to play the part of their literary characterss, all three of them insist that they are as keen to act in the next sequel as they were in the first. Daniel Radcliffe said that he would continue to be a part of the cast as long as the script proved to be a challenge and the movie had a good director. "Ultimately it comes down to the fact that are we still enjoying it? If we are, it would be sort of stupid not to, as long as the script's good and it's a challenge and there's an interesting director," he said. Watson went a bit further and said that she would absolutely hate to see anyone other than herself playing the character of Hermione. "I know that if anybody else played Hermione, it would actually kill me. I wouldn't be able to deal with that. I'd go after her," she added.

Barrymore to help you in 'Understanding Guys' (Go To Top)

London: The self-help book which gives women an insight into the minds of men they're dating, "He's Just Not That Into You: The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys", took the Western world by storm, and now, actress Drew Barrymore is all set to take it to the next level by making it into a movie. The book was co-written by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, the writers behind the hit TV series "Sex and the City", and aims at making women aware of the signals men give when they are not interested in a relationsip, and which women do not pay attention to. The pair are also said to be writing the screen-play for the movie. Although Drew has bought the rights to the book and her company, Flower Films, will be producing it, the actress herself has no plans to star in the movie, according to trade paper, The Hollywood Reporter. The actress has starred in other films produced by the company such as "Charlie's Angels", "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and "Never Been Kissed", among others.

Madonna's 'Frozen' frozen for plagiarism (Go To Top)

Washington: A virtually unknown Belgian songwriter has succeeded in putting the freeze on Madonna's 1998 hit single 'Frozen'. Composer Salvatore Acquaviva, who sued Madonna in May for plagiarism, has reportedly won the case against the Material Girl in a court in the Belgian town of Mons, where the judge ordered EMI, Sony, and Warner Music to get radio and television stations to stop playing the song. The judge also ordered the three companies to get music stores across the country to stop selling the single, as well as the album on which it appears. "The judge has ruled Madonna must withdraw from sales all remaining disks, and orders that TV and radio can no longer play 'Frozen,' " E!Online quoted Acquaviva's lawyer, Victor-Vincent Dehin, as telling the Associated Press. However, no damages were set in the case, and Madonna may appeal the ruling if she chooses.

No more monkeying around for Paris Hilton (Go To Top)

London: A 'cute' primate called 'Baby Luv' may have seemed to be the perfect pet for heiress Paris Hilton when she bought the monkey in Las Vegas, but the authorities in Los Angeles are not smiling, as it turns out that the ownership of a restricted species is illegal in the State. And the authorities from the California Department for Fish and Game, have now come knocking on her door and are demanding that the socialite hand over the exotic kinkajou to them. "We'll send them a letter to let them know we're aware they have a restricted species," Femalefirst quoted a spakesperson for the Department, as saying. But as it happens, Paris might just be willing enough to hand over the little monkey to the authorities, after being bitten and clawed by the little fellow during a shopping trip at the Los Angeles designer boutique Agent Provocateur. In the meantime, the Hilton hotel heiress has also incurred the wrath of animal activist group PETA( People for the Ethical Treatment of Amimals). Lisa Lange, from Peta, was critical of the heiress and said that to the Hilton babe changes pets as fast as she changes friends and fiancis. "It seems Paris thinks animals are as disposable as friends and fiancis," Lisa Lange said.
