Advani
predicts change in Centre
Ahmedabad:
BJP president LK Advani has predicted a change in the political
scenario of the country, provided the Congress-led United Progressive
Alliance (UPA) Government failed to improve its report card.
"After reviewing the happenings in the past few days, I strongly
feel there are possibilities that there will be change in the
politics at the Centre. Within a short time in the recent past
there were three judicial indictments against the Congress-led
Government at the Centre," said Advani here today. The former
Deputy Prime Minister had come here to cast his vote for the
crucial Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) polls held today.
Referring to the recent Supreme Court ruling in which the court
termed the dissolution of the Bihar State Assembly in April
this year as unconstitutional, Advani said it was just an example
of the poor performance of the UPA Government at the Centre.
"It was declared a few days back after the Congress chief ministers'
conclave in Chandigarh that the report cards of the Congress
chief ministers would be provided in a short time. But the report
card of the Central Government is so poor that the Supreme Court
was impelled to indict the Government thrice," said Advani.
"There was hardly any case like the one when the Supreme Court
indicted the Government in the case of dissolution of the Assembly
and imposition of President's rule in Bihar," he added. Advani
will visit Bihar from October 14 to 17 to campaign for his party
candidates for the forthcoming State Assembly polls.
